One Hurricane. Two Strangers. No Rules.

Hannah Adamson was immune to relationships. Swearing men off long ago, she buried her painful reasons under her feisty independence and a passion for roller derby. Until she met Ed and was swept away by the tall, witty, sarcastically sexy best man who might just be the one to have the antidote for her runaway heart.

Ed Alcott wasn’t looking for love, especially not after a particularly nasty breakup left him with a shattered heart in desperate need of repair.

Taking shelter together when a hurricane bears down on Rum Cay, Hannah and Ed find they can’t fight their growing attraction. It was supposed to be simple. Easy. A weekend of passion with no strings. But how do you forget the one who stripped away all your layers, and haunts your dreams?

Can Hannah keep the scattered pieces of her heart in check, or will the promise of Ed’s love be enough to mend them back together?

About the Authors:
P13 - CopySonya Loveday, first and foremost is a reader, an avid one. It is of that love that brought her to purchasing her first laptop in 2009, and publishing her first novel, Casted, in 2013.

In early 2014, Sonya expanded Casted and then went on to publish Spelled, the sequel to Casted in March, wrapping up the series, and her stint with Paranormal Romance. For now.

Not long after the completion to the Casted Series, Sonya tried her hand at Contemporary Romance. Thusly, The Six Series was born with The Summer I Fell, which released at the end of July 2014.

To date, Sonya lives in Central Florida with her husband, and two kids, and is currently working several projects to be announced in the upcoming months.

Almost there!!!

Hello everyone!

So I’m finally able to get on to most of my stuff here on WordPress. Still can’t see my stats, but then again I’ve been horribly absent on here as of late so there isn’t any stats to see *shrug*.

I’ve been very busy these last few months and can excitedly say……my book is going into edits! YAY!!!!!!!

I’ve got a cover artist lined up. The awesome Ravven will be doin’ her thang 🙂 and I can’t wait to see it! For now I’ve created an image with the synopsis.

Wanna see? Ok!

Coming soon! Summer 2013
Coming soon! Summer 2013

I’ve kicked my author page on Facebook into high gear, trying to create a following before the book is released. It still feels a little surreal right now saying I’m an author. Technically that coveted title is a little over a month away…but still.

And sadly, am still struggling with Twitter. I’m working on understanding it though. Gonna have to buy the Twitter for Dummies book before it’s all said and done…lol

Anyways. I hope everyone is doing good. I can’t wait to sit down and catch up on all I’ve missed!

Got anything new going on your way?

Blog Hop! The Next Big Thing: Casted

Hello All!

So I finally got the reader back on my home screen *dance of joy* it only took me 2 hours of banging on keys to get there…Seriously I looked like a monkey trying to fly a shoe. My tongue was stuck out and everything…….Yes, it was that ugly :/ Ok, stupid analogy but my brain is fried after numerous bouts of:

un-click this – delete that- oh wait maybe if I….nope, ok well let’s try this……crap, ok lets see……OH look the little circle is still spinning UGH! – Maybe this will work…nope. *insert bad language* – let me just un-click this and see….

HALLELUJAH!!!!!!  it worked, it really…really, I’m a frickin’ genious….bahahahaha it worked! Let me go back and check it…..just in case…noooooooooooo! Yup you guessed it – right back to the spinning circle of nothingness *sigh*

You would think that after all those dramatics I’d have a great explanation as to what I did to make it work. The big revelation is that I changed it to https….REALLY? Yes, it was that simple.

Anyways……..now that you’ve seen just how computer savvy (har har) I am…..now on to the real reason for this blog:

Candace Knoebel has nominated me for The Next Big Thing! Candace has a lot of cool stuff happening right now. First and foremost, she will be revealing the cover for Embracing the Flames – the second book in her Born in Flames trilogy!  Secondly, she is holding a giveaway on her Facebook page when she reaches 1,000 likes. Check out her page if you haven’t done so – tell her I sent you 🙂 And thirdly, Candace is getting close to wrapping up her third and final book of the installment and will be sending it on to her publisher very soon. Way to go Candace!

And without further ado……..

What is the working title of your next book?

I’m currently working on a new project, I’ve been rolling a lot of titles around in my head and have come up with Casted – will it stay that? I don’t know, right now it just feels right. Who knows it could change the closer I get to finishing the book.

Where did the idea for your book come from?

From my head of course 🙂 Honestly, this book started taking shape about 4 years ago when I had numerous story lines running around in my head. I started spilling all the extra stuff out in word documents so that I wouldn’t lose a story while another one was taking precedence. Sometimes you have to do that in order to stay focused. I’m glad I did because it’s really shaping up nicely now that the beginning was already there 🙂

What genre does your book fall under?

This definitely won’t fall under YA since there is one Character that likes to use a handful of non-YA words 😉 I guess you could either say Paranormal Fantasy or maybe Urban Fantasy since it deals with magic and spells and witches ….oh my!

Who would play your characters in a film?

Woooah there….getting a little ahead yourself much? I mean who wouldn’t want their book to become a movie? Sadly, only a handful make it and kudos to them who do! I on the other hand will live in the reality that will never come to pass – but if Ian Sommerhalder wanted to step in and take on Edge’s role…..just sayin’ 😉

What is the one sentence synopsis of your book?

“I’ve been running all my life from the unknown, I will run no more and face those who seek to destroy me.” ~Jade

Will your next book be self published or represented by an agent?

I will be walking the path of the Indie 🙂

How long did it take to write the first draft of your manuscript?

I’m still writing it. I’m pushing to have the first draft complete within the next month and then begin the grueling editing process 🙂

What other books would you compare this story to in the genre?

I wish I could give you a really good answer for this but the truth is….I don’t have an answer. I love to read. I find myself reading way more than writing – which is a big downfall for me. There are some really great authors out there that may have similar styles or settings. But, I believe, every book written shouldn’t be compared to others because the two are never the same 🙂

What inspired you to write this book?

I’d finished Fates Awakening and sent it off for review to a publisher who requested it. Once it was reviewed and I had a chance to fix the issues the publisher found with it – I realized that it just wasn’t enough. There are a lot of things I need to do to fix it and make it readable. It’s ok now but I want it to be better than ok. So I began tweaking and fixing and cutting and rewriting. All that led to the fact that I needed more – things have to change and I was forcing it to fit – you can’t do that and make it a good read. So, I stepped away and went back to Casted. I want fresh eyes and a clear head when I tackle Fates Awakening again, cause I know it has lots of potential. Casted is inspiring me to continue doing what I love…to write!

What else about the book might pique the readers interest?

Dagger and Edge….Can’t wait to see what the readers think of them!

That’s it for me. I’ll be keeping everyone posted as the story continues to flow out of my head and down to the keys. Until then I’d like to nominate not one, but two fellow Authors who in my opinion have very promising writing careers ahead of them. Hope on over and check out Cassandra Giovanni and Andrew Toynbee. While your at it, check out their Facebook pages too!

And as my good friend Andrew says:

Write on!

Writing in progress!

A sneak peek at Casted

As promised here is a snippet from my work in progress. I’m pretty excited with how this story is shaping up in my mind – Maybe it’s because I’ve had a little more writing time under my belt and I’m not trying to force it – the words flow from my mind to the screen and I leave them there – I’ll go back when it’s all said and done to cut what isn’t needed and leave what is.  I still have to come up with a name…lol

This particular scene is where our main characters Jade and Dagger are on the run from the Triad. The Triad has been hunting Jade since they murdered her parents and learned of her existence. Dagger’s coven has put him in charge of keeping her safe and hidden while they create a diversion to lead the Triad on a wild goose chase – but the odds are stacked against them as the Triad seems to be one step behind them at every turn.  So without further ado……..(please excuse any missing punctuation and such…I am by no means and editor…lol)

“We have two minutes tops before they blow this whole place up around us. If the safe houses are as you say then we have no choice….we need to take her to Edge.” Julie turned to the wall and pulled a small piece of paneling away to show an intricate design. It began to glow a faint purple light when she placed her fingers against it.

“No,” Dagger pulled her hand away. “He’s the last person I would have Jade near.”

“We don’t have any other option! You can’t take her to another safe house and you can’t put her out with the Mick’s. Think about it…they would never guess you took her there.” Julie said.

“I don’t like it.  He’s……” Dagger didn’t finish his sentence.

“It’s protected!!!….” Julie yelled above the groaning coming from the house. It was a matter of second’s before we’re crushed under all the rubble.

“It’s protected by dark magic! How do you figure that benefits us?” Dagger yelled.

“We can fight about it after we get there,” Julie snapped back at him.

Hope you enjoyed – can’t wait to jump back on it today and get a few more chapters in. Have a great day y’all!!  Now I’ll leave you with a bit humor….

My Crazy Life

Aca-Believe it!

Aca-believe itOh yes…believe it my e-friends 🙂 I am walking away from the book that is sitting right there on the verge of being a book – or as close as it can be before it’s approved by a publisher.  A publisher who is “interested” in it (I might add) if I get it cleaned up and resubmitted.

And why would I do that, you ask? Because it is pissing me off…I answer.

Yes it’s feeling forced and I don’t like that – I’ve cut a lot of the blah out and revved it up but now I need more. Scenes are brewing in my head behind a closed door – closed to even me…*shrug*  s’okay ~ I got nothing’ but time 😉

Can you tell I watched Pitch Perfect? Funny movie and Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) is hilarious!

I’ve not done any blogs because there hasn’t been anything to talk about. Up until last Friday all has been calm at Casa de Loveday…that is at least until my son fell out of a tree. *SIGH* yes he broke his elbow – or rather chipped the bone on both sides of his elbow. Tomorrow he goes to the Orthopedic to see if they will put him in a full cast.

Will and his elbow

More exciting news..well for me it’s exciting –  we’ve booked our trip north for my Cousin’s wedding this summer. I can’t wait to see all my family – maybe they will give me lots of interesting things to write about, they are the crazy side so it looks promising 😉 That’s it for now – as I continue on with my new projects I will post excerpts so you can see that I really haven’t given up on my writing and you WILL see something from me come Hell, high water or broken bones 🙂 har har har…..I know.  So what’s been goin’ on with you?
